Terminal emulator: Is a computer program that emulates a video terminal within some other display architecture.

Shell: A shell is a software interface that's often a command line interface that enables the user to interact with computer.

List of command:

\- list command: ls

\- make directory command: mkdir folder name

\- change directory command: cd

\- How to get back into previous directory: cd ..

\- command for display the folder: where git

\- Hidden file command: ls -a

\- which directory you're in right now: pwd(print working directory)

\- (.)---------&gt; means current directory

\- (..)---------&gt; means previous directory

\- if you want to display more information about file: ls -l

\- if you want display more information about hidden file: ls -al

\- How to get into previous directory: cd ../folder name

\- This command show file in the sub-directory: ls -R

\- If you want to create a file and write something into it: cat &gt; file.txt

\- If you want to display the content of a file: cat

\- If you want to know information about command: man echo

\- If you want to make directory: mkdir

\- If you want to make directory inside directory: mkdir test-----&gt;mkdir random------&gt;mkdir random/hello

\- If you want to create middle directory between two directory: mkdir -p random/middle/hello

\- How to create file: touch name.txt

\- How to create file inside a directory: touch test/house.txt

\- How to open current directory: open .

\- How to open any file or directory: open filename or folder name

\- How to copy the file: cp file.txt copy\_file.txt

\- How to move file into directory: mv file.txt random

\- How to rename file or directory: mv file.txt new\_name.txt

\- How to move directory or file into current directory: mv random/renametext .

\- How to delete file : rm file name or rm -rf file name

\- How to delete folder: rm -R folder name

\- If you want to view first few line of any file: head file.txt or head -n 4 file.txt

\- If you want to view last few line of any file: tail file.txt or tail -n 4 file.txt

\- If you want to compare the file line by line: diff file.txt total.txt

\- If you want to locate the file: locate "\*.txt"
